Preparing for GDC

To my fellow readers,

Don't worry, I have started blogging again. In fact, I have so many posts in the queue, soon you'll have plenty to read as per usual. I must say, I've really enjoyed the break. It gave me the time to organize my glossary, best-of collection, and the blog into handy PDF files. I also printed the critical-gaming blog into hard bound books that I'll share with you soon.

The reason I'm writing this post is to let you know that the B.E.S team, Marcus and I, are going to the Game Developers Conference this March. This will be my first serious push into the game industry. I'll be volunteering too so I'll have complete conference access. If you're going to GDC as well, let me know. I love meeting people in person. Good times.

To prepare for the conference I decided to hold off on releasing my new blog posts and focus on completely overhauling the design of the blog. Expect some big changes to the way things look and function around here. If you have any comments about how this site is structured, let me know ASAP. Leave a comment. Send an email. Use twitter or my blog messenger. Just make your voice heard. Does the white on white background and text fields hurt your eyes? Are there too many links on the site? Is it too hard to navigate? Would you like a better way to keep track of your progress? Let me know.

The future holds all the promise.

Thanks,

Richard Terrell (KirbyKid)

I think I can help with the redesign of the site. Currently the archives are only organized by date so sometimes I have to look around a bit to find which article I left off on.
First, tags to make finding specific blog posts easy. Say I want to find something related to clutter, I'd like to be able to just click on that tag and find all articles related to it.
Next, articles part of a series put together. For example, the reviews and repairs are not one after another and are scattered among many other posts.
