To test your dexterity skills B.E.S presents...
Try playing on a laptop/netbook. Two tests don't work on a peripheral keyboard.
We're trying to fix it.
Dexterity is a series of tests designed to measured your dexterity skills with the mouse and keyboard. Because dexterity skills are always relative to an action, task, or a "controller" I was limited to designing the game around the mouse and keyboard. I would love to work with a Gamecube controller, but connecting one to my PC isn't easy. And though I've successfully connected and designed games using a Bluetooth connection for my Wiimote, chances are you won't have such a set up. If you can't play it then why bother making the game? Furthermore, because of the mouse and keyboard don't have accelerometer based motion control capabilities, I was unable to test any kind of strength dexterity skill.
As you can see in the screenshot above, each test focuses on a unique combination of dexterity skill facets. Some tests use the scroll wheel, others the left click, and others the analog mouse pointer. Though no single test lasts longer than 30 seconds, the collected data accurately reflects your mouse dexterity skills.
I designed most of the keyboard tests around piano finger exercises that I've learned over the years. By looking at the specific scores in each keyboard game, I can even determine your dexterity skills between fingers. I believe my keyboard dexterity stats come from my typing proficiency and piano skills. Overall, I'm not much of a PC gamer. I wonder how a high level StarCraft player's stats measure up.
Compared to Knowledge, Dexterity has a bit more graphical/presentational flare. I hope you like it. B.E.S Studios is getting better at quickly making quality games. We're already working on Timing. Stay tuned and enjoy.
These are my stats. How do you stack up?
